At the beginning of January, our brilliant team members Chris, Minnie, and Kim were proud to spend the day supporting St Wilfrid’s Hospice Eastbourne annual Christmas Tree Recycling Day.
The work of St Wilfrid’s Hospice means a great deal to everyone here at Coda Pharmacy. As a local organisation deeply rooted in the community, we are always keen to support fundraising initiatives that help sustain the vital care the hospice provides. When the opportunity arose to take part in this much-loved annual event, we didn’t hesitate to get involved.
The day began bright and early at 8am, with our team setting off to Uckfield to collect Christmas trees from homes across the local area. Despite the early start and winter chill, spirits were high as the team travelled from street to street, meeting residents and sharing friendly conversations along the way.
Each tree collected represented a donation to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, helping to fund the vital work they do every day to support people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
Coda’s Minnie said: “I really enjoyed getting involved with the St Wilfrid’s Christmas tree collection. It was such a lovely day volunteering, collecting trees, chatting with people along the way, and discovering parts of East Sussex I hadn’t visited before. It was great to be part of it, and I look forward to helping out again in the future.”
In total, over 600 Christmas trees were collected, raising an incredible £14,000 to help fund hospice care. It was a truly remarkable day and a wonderful opportunity to come together with our community for such an important cause. Our team is immensely proud to have played a small part in the success of the event and is already looking forward to supporting St Wilfrid’s Hospice again next year.
