This month, the Coda Pharmacy team proudly teamed up with Eastbourne Borough Council’s Environment First to take part in a community litter pick. It was a fantastic opportunity to step outside our day-to-day work and contribute to the wellbeing of the town we’re so proud to call home.
As an Eastbourne based business we see how every summer it comes alive with the excitement of Airbourne, the town’s annual air show. The event brings in thousands of visitors, creating an incredible atmosphere of energy and celebration.

However, with large crowds also comes a challenge we’ve seen first-hand- a significant increase in litter across the town and seafront. While it’s wonderful to see Eastbourne buzzing with life, the aftermath can place a real strain on the local environment and community spaces.
That’s why our team was eager to join forces with Environment First. Armed with gloves, litter pickers, and bin bags, we spent the afternoon collecting waste from busy areas. It was inspiring to see just how much can be achieved when people come together for a shared purpose. Beyond the clear-up itself, the experience gave us a deeper appreciation for the tireless work that council teams and volunteers put in year after year.
At Coda, we believe community is at the heart of everything we do. Taking part in initiatives like this is about more than tidying up; it’s about showing respect for our town, supporting our neighbours, and creating a cleaner, safer space for everyone to enjoy.
We’re proud to have played a small part in keeping Eastbourne’s beaches clean. We loved getting to spend time together as a team and are already looking forward to getting involved in more community projects in the future. A huge thank you to the Environment First team for all they do to care for our town.
